Empowering Research Through Partnership: A Significant Milestone
On October 30, 2024, SMLC (M) Sdn Bhd was honored to participate in the prestigious event, “Empowering Research Through Partnership,” organized by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). This momentous occasion brought together distinguished academic leaders, industry experts, and corporate partners from Malaysia and Japan to foster collaboration and advance research innovation internationally.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed representatives, including:
- Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) – Dr Siti Baidurah and Associate Professor Dr Leh Cheu Peng of School of Industrial Technology, USM
- Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT), Japan – Assistant Professor Dr. Naofumi Kamimura, Dr. Rohani Abdul Majid and Former Professor Dr. Takaomi Kobayashi.
- JET Corporation – Shinichi Shimose, Nakajima-San, and Dr. Phan Phuoc Tri

The event also featured the ceremonial Exchange of Mementos, a gesture of mutual appreciation and respect among the key stakeholders. These exchanges reflect the deepening ties and aligned vision between academia and industry.
Soft Launch of the Environmental Recycling System (ERS) Machine
The delegation was also given a tour of the Environmental Recycling System (ERS) Research Lab, where the soft launch of the ERS machine for research and development took place. This milestone underscores the commitment to sustainability and innovation, enabling cutting-edge research in environmental recycling technologies.
